In business, focusing on one or two marketing channels isn’t enough. If one of them fails so do you.
There are few marketing methods that are totally reliable and likely to bring you so much business that you don't need to market elsewhere. Spread your risk over many different marketing channels and "don't put all your eggs in one basket".
For example I'm a great believer in websites and this one brings me substantial amounts of work. But what would happen to my business if I relied on it 100% .. and it got hacked? My business would suffer. So I use websites, social networking, PR, advertising, .. in fact I use over 60 marketing channels and get results from all of them.
